Tyson Fury Press release

July 7, 2011

Tyson Fury admits he’s been shocked by bad-boy Dereck Chisora before this month’s heavyweight grudge fight.

Fury challenges for Chisora’s British and Commonwealth belts at Wembley Arena on Saturday, July 23 – and Tyson admits he can’t believe ‘Del Boy’ is actually going through with the fight being screened live on Channel Five.

Tyson said: “I’ve been expecting a phone call to say Chisora has broken a toe nail and has had to pull out of the fight.

“I genuinely believe he’s a bully and we all know what happens when you stand up to a bully. I am surprised he hasn’t found a way to get out of fighting me.

“I think he would rather fight anyone in the world rather than me.

“This fight is personal. I don’t like him and want to take away his titles.

“I saw the way he kissed Carl Baker before they boxed and I want him to know that he’s not my type !”

Chisora was set to challenge Wladimir Klitschko last year, but his fight with the world’s No 1 heavyweight fell through.

Klitschko, who dominated David Haye and took away his WBA belt last week, said he will be taking an interest in British boxing’s fight of the year and a world-title challenge could lie ahead for the winner.

Fury said: “It’s nice to know Wladimir will be putting his feet up watching the fight. If that’s the fight Chisora wants, he has to get through me first. I’m sure he Wladimir will enjoy it – and so will everyone else who sees it.”

Tickets are selling fast for a show that also includes Fury’s cousin, Phill Fury, and Newmarket’s all-action Pat McAleese and unbeaten Chris Evangelou.

Tyson expects to have around thousands of fans cheering him on. “They won’t leave disappointed,” said Fury.
