Live updates: Scott Quigg v Jason Booth; Marco Huck v Rogelio Omar Rossi
*Refresh for updates
Fight action tonight comes from the Reebok Stadium in Bolton. 23 year old Scott Quigg will take on Jason Booth for the British Super Bantamweight title. At 33 Booth is unbeaten domestically at Super Bantamweight however recent losses to Kiko Martinez and Steve Molitor have left people suggesting he is too old for the game. Scott Quigg is a young and hungry fighter who has power in his hands. I think Quigg will stop the fight within 6 sending Booth into retirement while setting up a future domestic bout with Carl Frampton.
Round 1: Noticed in the Tale of the Tape that Quigg has a 4 inch height and reach advantage. Wonder if he can use that effectively? Quigg takes the centre of the ring early and doesn’t waste many punches. Booth is throwing more punches but not really landing cleanly. Tight round.
Round 2: Similar start to the second round but at around the halfway round Quigg throws a quality right hand which Booth couldn’t avoid. Definitely a round to Quigg with his faster punches landing frequently.
Round 3: Quigg is landing with body shots early in the round. Booth seems to be really struggling with the speed and size of Quigg who is just stalking Booth around the ring.
Round 4: Clear power difference between Quigg and Booth. When Quigg lands you can hear the oomph on the punch. The body shots have continued and as the fight wears on you wonder what effect they will have on Booth.
Round 5: Booth is still throwing lots of punches but hardly any land cleanly. Quigg on the other hand is almost landing at will. Seems impossible for Booth to change the fight. Carl Frampton, the Commonwealth Champion, is ringside and believes Booth will be pulled out by his corner soon.
Round 6: Quigg’s punches are really seeming to have an effect. The continuous body shots are seeming to take their toll on Booth. Ever the warrior Booth is still coming back with punches not with much success.
Round 7: Booth has been told if he has one more round like that he will be pulled out. Quigg just continues his work from the earlier rounds dominating Booth. He looks like a beaten man. Quigg is just too fast and strong. IT’S OVER! Booth pats Quigg on the back at the end of the round and tell his corner that it’s over.

Also tonight we get to see one of the best cruiserweights in the world. Marco Huck has not lost a fight in almost four years. Tonight he takes on Argentinian southpaw Rogelio Omar Rossi. Rossi has two losses on his record from his second and third fight. Since then he has not lost a fight although all his fights have been at home and Huck will represent a greater challenge.
Round 1: Tight tentative guard from Huck early on. Quiet and I will give the round to Rossi as he landed more punches despite Huck landing well late on.
Round 2: Huck lands the first really telling shot of the fight with a good strong jab. Rossi remains the aggressor though. Huck explodes for the last ten seconds but not enough work for me to win the round.
Round 3: There is bruising around Rossi’s eye and this time Huck starts the round attacking. After numerous warning the ref takes a point off Rossi for low punches. Right hand from Huck and Rossi goes down but after seeing a replay we see that Huck doesn’t really land cleanly and it shouldn’t be scored as a knockdown.
Round 4: Rossi is still the attacker but Huck’s work is becoming cleaner. Controversy at the end of the round as Huck knocks Rossi down after the bell. The ref takes 2 points off Huck.
Round 5: Huck finally begins to unload early in the round and they begin to trade. Huck clearly gets the better of the exchange and sends the challenger to the floor. Huge combination at the end of the round and Rossi goes down. Can’t see this going on for much longer.
Round 6: Some brilliant shots to end the fight for Huck. Rossi remains sprawled on his back for some time after the final punches have been thrown. He leaves the ring on a stretcher. The finishing punch was a right hand which caught Rossi clean on the chin and knocked him out cold.
